The Testarossas were made at three different locations: the bodies (of aluminum and zincrox) and chassis were built by ITCA in Turin; Pininfarina painted and trimmed them; and at Maranello all the major mechanical parts were made and assembled to complete the cars.Total production per year :

Information from GB Progetti #10Some short facts :
- The normal production of the Testarossa started in July 1984 and ended in late 1991.
- The total production is 7177. Numbers found in other sources are 7249 and 7183. Progetti #10 mentions that 7589 cars were made until December 12th 1991, but this may include a number of 512 TRs.
- The first known Testarossa is s/n 53081, the last known is s/n 91923. There is a Testarossa in California claiming s/n 52979, but this number has not been verified yet.
- It took until mid-1985 before the first Testarossas arrived in the USA.
- Due to high prices, a total of 150 to 200 Testarossas were imported in the USA as "gray market" cars.
- The delivery time was often between 2 or 3 years!
