Speciale
Designed for the Japanese market. They made only 15 cars of this type, to commemorate the fifteen years that Cornes & Co. has been the Ferrari importer of Japan. The cars have special three piece wheels, a Scuderia Ferrari badge on the front fenders and a deep red / maroon colour, which is called Wine-red metallic.
According to Cavallino #79, feb/mar 1994:
"Ferrari introduced a new model in Japan last Fall, a 512 TR Speciale, designed only for the Japanese market, and there will be only fifteen of them, to commemorate the fifteen years that Cornes & Co. has been the Ferrari importer to Japan. Cars come with special three piece wheels, a cloissone Scuderia Ferrari badge embedded in each front fender (a la 288 GTO and F40), and a deep red/ maroon paint job called wine-red metallic. No other changes were noted, and none to the engine we were told. The example here presented at the Tokyo Bay Hilton was a Berlinetta coupe, but several of the fifteen will be factory made 512 TR spyders!"
(remark: there are NO 512 TR Speciale Spiders made)
